The Dexter baseball team clinched a share of the SEC White title last week with a three-game sweep of Ypsilanti Lincoln.
The sweep improved the Dreadnaughts final record to 14-4 in the conference to tie with Tecumseh for the top spot. Tecumseh earned the top spot in the SEC crossover due to the head-to-head matchup with Dexter.
The Dreadnaughts opened with an 8-0 win over Lincoln Wednesday, May 16.
Ryan Schoch was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 and allowing just four hits and walking one in the complete game win.
The Dreads jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the first, with the big blow being a two-run homer by David Kreske. They added runs in the fourth and fifth inning and Schoch did the rest.
Kreske finished with three hits, three RBI, and two runs scored to lead the offense. Grant Stehley, Andrew Spicer, Drew Bielas, and Drake Doyle each had a hit and RBI.
The second game saw Dexter score three in the first and four in the second to take control with a 7-1 lead and cruise to a 12-2 win.
Mack Martin led the way with two hits and three RBI, while Jacob Haley had two hits and an RBI. Owen Vaughn added two hits, Kreske a hit and two RBI, Bielas and Owen Huard a hit and RBI each.
Martin earned the win on the mound, striking out five.
Ryan Moore, Reid Ladd, and Brady Rosen combined for a four-hit shutout in an 8-0 win in the final game of the series.
Bielas led the bats with three hits and an RBI while Moore had two hits and an RBI. Kreske had a hit and two RBI, Ladd and Ben Cabana a hit and RBI each.
