The Dexter baseball team split a doubleheader with Ann Arbor Skyline last week to wrap up its regular season with a 22-8 overall record.
The Dreadnaughts took the opener of the SEC crossover 2-1.
A two-out two-run triple by Mack Martin gave the Dreads a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and that is all Dexter would need behind the pitching of Ryan Schoch.
Schoch allowed just four hits and struck out 10 for the complete game win.
Skyline would get a run in the third to make it 2-1. They put two runners on in the fifth, but a double play ended the threat. They also put two runners on in the seventh, but Schoch got out of it for the win.
Martin’s triple and two RBI led the way for Dexter. Alex Mills and Andrew Spicer had the only other hits for the Dreads.
The second game saw the Eagles score single runs in each of the middle four innings to pull out a 4-2 win.
Grant Stehley had a double and RBI for Dexter. Hayden Walworth had hit and run scored, while Drake Doyle, Owen Huard, Drew Bielas, and Nathaniel Fiegel each had a single.
