The Dexter baseball team opened SEC White play with a three-game sweep of Pinckney last week.

The Dreadnaughts opened the week with a come from behind 8-5 win over the Pirates.

Pinckney built a 4-2 lead after three, but Dexter took the lead in the fifth with two runs scored on an error. The Pirates tied it at five in the sixth, but Alex Mills doubled home two runs in the bottom of the inning for a 7-5 lead and Dexter held on for the win.

Drake Doyle led the offense with three hits, while Mills had a hit and two RBI. Ryan Schoch and Drew Bielas had a hit and RBI each.


Schoch earned the win on the mound, striking out nine, while David Kreske earned the save.

Al Thorington led Pinckney with two hits and an RBI.

Dexter then took a pair from the Pirates Friday, winning 6-2 and 16-2.

Schoch led the offense with a hit and two RBI. Mills, Kreske, and Andrew Spicer each had a hit and run batted in. Mack Martin allowed just one hit and struck out three for the win.

The nightcap saw Dexter score 13 runs in the third inning to blow the game open.

Grant Stehley had two hits and three RBI, while Owen Vaughn had a hit and four RBI. Mills and Nathaniel Fiegel each had a hit and two RBI. Doyle earned the win on the mound striking out one.

Dexter won its own tournament Saturday by beating Manchester 10-1 and Lakeview 12-8.

The Dreads led Manchester 2-1 after four but scored four in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away.

Kevin DeVoogd led the offense with two hits and three RBI, while Doyle had two hits and two RBI and Hayden Walworth two hits and one RBI.

Jacob Hayley earned the win with six strikeouts.

Lakeview scored six in the second to take a 6-2 lead in the championship, but Dexter rallied for two in the third, four in the fourth and four in the fifth to win the championship.

Mills had a huge game at the plate with four hits, four runs scored, and five RBI. Martin and Fiegel each had two hits and one RBI.

Ryan Moore earned the win on the mound in relief with two strikeouts.
