The Dexter boys’ cross country team left no doubt in clinching the SEC White title at the league finals at Hudson Mills Metro Park October 17.

The Dreadnaughts need a 3rd place finish or better to clinch the title and they did better then that, dominating the final race by placing its first six runners in the top 12 and finishing with 28 points for the race. They easily beat out second place Pinckney with 55 points and third place Chelsea with 57.

The one-two finish by Owen Huard and Nathan Larson helped power the Dreadnaughts to the title.

Huard finished in 15:45.6, while Larson wasn’t far behind in second with a time of 15:52.

Seth Read continues to be a strong third runner for Dexter and finished 6th in 16:21.6, while William Buller continues a late season surge with some impressive times, finishing eighth in 16:27.9.

Conor Kolka was 11th in 16:45.6, Finnegan Bell 12th in 16:47.9, and Nathan Gariepy 26th in 17:20.8.

The Dreadnaughts will take part in a very tough D1 Regional at DeWitt Friday.

Along with 3rd ranked Dexter, #1 Brighton, #7 Ann Arbor Skyline, and #15 Pinckney are all at the Regional. The top three teams advance. if anyone has a top 5 runner slip, a very good team will be missing the state finals.
