The Dexter boys’ lacrosse team got the help they needed Thursday night when Pinckney knocked off Tecumseh to help the Dreadnaughts clinch at least a share of a third straight SEC White title.
After falling to Pinckney in double overtime earlier in the week, the Dreadnaughts had fallen out of a first place tie with the Indians, but the Pirates helped Dexter move back to the top spot with the win over Tecumseh.
Dexter finished SEC White play with a 6-2 record in the conference. Tecumseh still has a game left with Lincoln and Pinckney will play at Chelsea this week. A win by both teams would mean a three-way tie for the SEC White crown. A loss by either team means a two-way tie and a loss by both gives Dexter the outright title.
The Dreadnaughts came up with a huge SEC crossover win over Ann Arbor Skyline 9-6 Friday night.
Marty Watson had a huge night for the Dreads with five goals.
Nico Willard had a goal and two assists and Benny Willard a goal and assist. JT Bonilla and Owen Bibby scored one goal each, while William Simpson had one assist.
Jeremy Schroeder made 11 saves in net for the Dreadnaughts.
The Dreadnaughts improved to 11-3 overall.
