The Dexter boys’ lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season with a pair of big wins.
They opened the week by routing Ann Arbor Huron 25-0.
Dexter put the pedal to the metal from the start and never let up. They scored eight goals in the first period and eight in the second to take a commanding 16-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win.
Jake Kapusanky and Dalton Wright scored six goals each to lead the Dreads. Yusuf Mohammad and Kyle Burke scored three goals each, Ryan Lotz and Mason Loudermilk two each, Grisha Griffiths, Cam Palmer, and Jasper Howell one goal apiece. Loudermillk dished out three assists and Gabe Waldrup two.
The Dreadnaughts finished the season by downing Chelsea 15-6 in a game that was continued from a previous start that was called after one quarter due to lightning earlier in the season.
Chelsea led 4-1 when the game was postponed, but Dexter dominated the restart with seven goals in the second period to take an 8-4 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs tried to make a game of it, outscoring the Dreads 2-1 in the third to cut the lead to 9-6, but Dexter put the game away with six goals in the fourth quarter.
Loudermilk led the Dreads with four goals and two assists. Lotz added three goals and an assist, Howell two goals, Waldrup and Kapusansky a goal and assist each, Zach Coone, Palmer, and Wright one goal each. Cooper Howatt mad 12 saves in net for Dexter.
