The Dexter boys’ lacrosse team split a pair of games last week, falling to Howell 7-5 and defeating Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 8-5.

The Dreads dropped a hard-fought contest to Howell Monday.

They were outshot 23-15 in the match, but Cooper Howatt made 10 saves in net to keep the game close.

The game was tied at 3-3 after three quarters, but the Highlanders outscored Dexter 4-2 in the fourth to pull out the win.


Mason Loudermilk and Gabe Waldrup scored two goals each to lead the offense. Grisha Griffith scored the Dreadnaughts other goal.

Sean Carr, Cam Palmer, and Ryan Lotz recorded assists.

Dexter led 3-2 at the half against Richard but outscored them 3-1 in the third to take a 6-3 lead.

They held on in the fourth to pull out the 8-5 win.

Loudermilk scored three goals to lead the Dreads. Waldrup and Griffith scored two goals each and Jasper Howell scored one. Lotz picked up three assists, while Howatt picked up the win in net.

Dexter improved to 3-2 on the season.
