Make it four straight SEC White volleyball titles for the Dexter Dreadnaughts after a five-set barn burning win over Pinckney Tuesday night.
The Dreadnaughts entered the game 12-0 in the conference and needing a win to claim the outright title.
The Pirates gave them all they could handle as Dexter had to rally from a set down to beat Pinckney 25-18, 8-25, 24-26, 25-14, 15-11.
Maybe the first set win went to the Dreadnaughts heads and they thought they would cruise to the easy win, but the Pirates came out in the second set and rolled to the win to even the match, the third set was back and forth, with Pinckney taking the close set and taking a 2-1 match lead.
Dexter calmed down and played their game in the fourth set to pull even and pulled out a hard-fought fifth set to claim the fourth straight title dating back to 2016.
Quinn LaFontaine had a big night with 34 digs, 11 kills, and two aces to lead the Dreads.
Delaney Arnedt had 23 assist and 11 digs, while Avery Goodrich had 18 digs and seven kills. Livvy Mellifont had 20 digs and three aces, and Eleanor King 19 assists, 14 digs, and five kills. Hanna Quinn added nine kills and Cami Fischer seven.
Dexter improved to 27-6 overall on the season. They host Chelsea Tuesday night in the annual Dig Pink game at 7:00 PM.
