The Dexter boys’ cross country team entered Saturday’s Jackson Invitational ranked seventh in Division 1 and had another strong showing as the Dreadnaughts finished fourth I the event that had six of the top 15 teams in Division 1 there.
The Dreadnaughts finished with 141 points. Twelfth-ranked Clarkston won the meet with 74, third-ranked Ann Arbor Pioneer was second and sixth-ranked Saline was third.
Three Dreadnaughts medaled at the race, led by Nathan Larson in 14th with a time of 16:06. He was followed by Owen Huard 16th in 16:10, and Lucas Betzoldt 28th in 16:27.
Liam Buller was 37th in 16:43, Nick McKenzie 46th in 16:48, Seth Read 58th in 16:58, and Sam Melvin 74th in 17:08.
The girls struggled with a 17th place finish in the race that featured five of the top six teams ranked in Division 1.
Dexter finished with 443 points. Plymouth Salem won the meet with 110.
Jacquelynn TerBush led Dexter with a 66th place finish in 20:23, followed by Anna Varitek in 69th in 20:28.
Jessica Hoehn was 97th in 21:16, Faith Jones 107th in 21:29, Allison Berkholz 120th in 22:04, Sophia Grant 124th in 22:14, and Hannah McComas 137th in 22:52.
