Dexter Falls at Hartland Tourney

The Dexter boys’ basktball team returned from its holiday break at the Hartland Tournament Friday night, but came up on the short end of a 67-63 decision to Fowlerville in the opening round.

Dexter came to life in the second rallying back to tie the game at 23. The Dreads had two chances to take the lead, but could not covert and Fowlerville finished on a 10-7 run to lead 33-30 at the half.

Fowlerville answered to start the fourth taking a 52-48 lead. The Gladiators lead would grow to 57-50 with three minutes left.

Lucchesi and Durand hit baskets to cut the lead to 57-54 and force a Gladiator timeout. Another Lucchesi basket cut the lead to one, but Fowlerville hit an and-one to build the lead back to four.
