The Dexter field hockey team saw its season come to an end in the Division 1 semifinals, falling to Saline 1-0.

The Dreadnaughts could not muster much offense against a strong Hornet defense. Dexter collected just one shot on net in the match that was kicked away by the Hornets goaltender.

Saline scored the lone goal of the game at the 12-minute mark of the first half and that was all they would need.

The Dexter defense did what it could by locking down on the Hornets high scoring offense, but it wasn’t enough.

The Dreadnaughts reached the semis by upsetting Marian 2-0 in the quarterfinals.

Marian had defeated Dexter 2-1 back in September, but Tuesday was a different story as the Dreads defense locked down and kept Marian off the scoreboard.

Kylie Richards and Abigail Tamer scored goals for Dexter and Maggie Jones earned the shutout in net by stopping nine shots.
