Dexter Field Hockey Splits Pair of Matches

The field hockey state tournament is fast approaching and the Dexter squad split a pair of games last week in preparation for the tournament.

The Dreadnaughts hosted rival Chelsea and came away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Abby Tamer scored both goals for the Dreadnaughts. Claire Vaughn and Shannon Schoch each had an assist.

The Dreadnaughts traveled to Saline for a non-league game Thursday night.

The teams played a regular two half game and then played a 10 minute overtime period and a shootout to prep for the state tournament.

Saline pulled out a 2-1 win in the regular game, scoring a goal with five minutes left in the game.

Tamer scored the lone goal for Dexter on a penalty kick.

Dexter improved to 9-3 overall on the season.
