Team X is headed to the Division 1 state championship game.
In its tenth season, the Dexter field hockey team is headed to the D1 finals after a 3-0 win over Marian in the semifinals Thursday night.

Pioneer awaits Dexter in the finals after beating Saline 1-0 in overtime in the first semifinal game. The teams split their matches this year Pioneer is the only Michigan team to defeat the Dreadnaughts, beating them 1-0 in early October.
The Dreadnaughts dominated the semifinal match, outshooting Marian 14-0.
While the defense was smothering Marian ,the offense continued to put shot after shot on net, but could not score as the teams were scoreless at the half.
The Dreads finally broke through at the 10:21 mark of the second half when Abigail Tamer found the net with an assist to Kylee Niswonger for a 1-0 lead.
Dexter continued to put the pressure on and with just under 10 minutes remaining Claire Vaughn scored with an assist to Tamer to make it 2-0.
Tamer put the game away with her second goal of the night with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
Maggie Jones earned the shutout in net for the Bulldogs with the help of her defense which did not allow a Marian shot on net.
The Dreadnaughts will be gunning for their first D1 state title. They won the D2 title in 2014.
They will take on Pioneer in the Finals Saturday at 2:00 in Chelsea.
