The Dexter football team may make winning a habit after picking up its second straight win last week by defeating Ann Arbor Huron 37-14 last week.
The Dreadnaughts used a balanced offense to rack up 350 total yards. They had 128 yards on the ground with Mason Loudermilk getting 71 on 14 carries. Jordan Watson had three carries for 10 yards, but had two touchdowns.
Coltin Parachek was 14 of 22 passing for 222 yards and three scores. His favorite target was Antwan Ficklen with eight catches for 162 yards and a score.
Watson put the Dreads on top with a touchdown run and then Even Chappell blocked a punt out of the back of the end zone to give Dexter a 9-0 lead.
Parachek hit Zach Koone with a 19 yard scoring pass to extend the lead to 16-0 at halftime.
The 2nd half started with Parachek hitting Alex mills with a 21-yard touchdown pass to make it 22-0.
Huron tried to rally and cut the lead to 22-8 with a touchdown and two point conversion.
The Dreadnaughts got a break when Huron intercepted a pass and returned it inside the 20 yard line, but they fumbled the return and Dexter recovered giving them a first down.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, Parachek hit Ficklen with a pass and he sprinted 69-yards for a score and a 29-8 lead.
Watson finished the Dreads scoring with his second scoring run of the night to make it 37-8. Huron added a late score to make it 37-14.
The Dreadnaughts will try to make it three straight when they host SEC White newcomer Jackson Friday night. Jackson will come to Al Ritt with a 3-0 record. Dexter will be looking for its first three game winning streak since 2010.
