The Dexter girls’ lacrosse team used a big first half to take control of the game and rolled to a 15-4 win over Tecumseh Wednesday, April 11.
Claire Vaughn opened the scoring and Skylar Waddington followed with a pair of goals to give the Dreadnaughts a quick 3-0 lead.
The lead would grow to 8-0 by halftime as the Dreads continued to dominate the first half.
Tecumseh picked up the pace in the second half, but the Dreadnaughts continued to pour it on as the lead grew to 13-2.
The Indians would add to more goals, but the Dreads slammed the door with two in the final minute to finish the victory.
Skylar Waddington and Gabi Waddington each scored four goals to lead the Dexter offense.
Janie Harshe and Vaughn finished with two goals each, while Maggie Jones, Alisha Birchmeier, and Sierra Holmes scored one apiece. Marin Waddington collected three assists, six ground ball recoveries, five draw controls, and forced two turnovers. Vaugh and Skylar Waddington each had an assist, while Bruna Meister made four saves in net for the Dreads.
