Dexter Girls Roll to Pair of League Wins

The Dexter girls’ basketball team picked up a pair of SEC White wins last week to improve to 5-6 in the conference and 6-8 overall.

The Dreadnaughts opened the week by rolling over Ypsilanti Lincoln 50-18.

Dexter jumped to a 14-2 lead after one and built it up to 27-6 at the half to cruise to the win.

Alayna Babut led the Dreads with 10 points, while Kaila Simpson added nine. Sydney Pnacek chipped in with eight points, Maddi Valentine seven, Kendall Rosevelt and Shannon Schock four each, Kyleigh Valentine and Brianna Rodriguez three, and Kylie Cabana two.

The Dreadnaughts then got their revenge on Ypsilanti after a tough overtime loss earlier in the year.

Dexter built a 10 point lead in the first half 28-18 and held that lead for most of the night.

The lead was 37-27 after three and Dexter put the game away with a 13-9 run in the fourth.

Pnacek led Dexter with 12 points, while Kylee Niswonger chipped in with 10.

Cabana and Rosevelt finished with eight each, Schock four, Rodriguez, Babut, Valentine, and Simpson two each.
