Dexter Girls’ Soccer Kick Off Season With Two Shutouts

An experienced Dexter girls’ soccer team looks to make another long run in the state tournament this season after reaching the Regional finals in 2017.

They kicked off 2018 with a strong start, recording a pair of shutouts in their first two games.

They opened the season with an 8-0 win over Lincoln Tuesday, April 10. Dexter dominated from the start with Sammi Corcoran, Molly McCormick, and Claire Ketzner scoring two goals each.

Abby Tamer and Remy Crawford added one goal each. Nicole Tuzinowski picked up the shutout win in net.

The Dreads then blanked SEC rival Chelsea 6-0 Thursday night. The Dreadnaughts built a 2-0 lead at halftime and put the game away with four goals in the second half.

Tuzinowski picked up her second shutout of the week in net for Dexter.

Corcoran had a big game, recording the hat trick of three goals.

Kylie Cabana, Tamer, and Ketzner each scored one goal.

Dexter is 2-0 in the SEC White.
