The Dexter girls swim and dive team came home with an 11th place finish at the Division 2 state finals at Oakland University Saturday.
The 11th place finish is a not the type of finish that Dexter is used to after finishing in the top two spots the last three years, but the young Dreadnaughts squad almost pulled out a top 10 finish with just 10 swimmers.
Dexter finished with 109 points, missing 10th by four points. Rochester Adams won the title with 250.
Jordan Maisch, Zoe Michos, Charlotte Schultz, and Sam Durrant opened with a 10th place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Schultz then earned All-State Honors with a 6th place finish in the 200 free.
Freshman Elysa Grossman then placed 11th in diving and Schultz another All-State finish in the 500 with a 5th place finish. Hailee Water also finished 15th in the 500.
Durrant, Kamille Balcom, Waters, and Elizabeth Merz teamed to finish 9th in the 200 free relay and then Maisch earned the best finish of the day for Dexter by taking fourth in the 100 back. Lauren Witte also finished 14th in the back.
Zoe Michos finished 15th in the 100 breast and the team of Merz, Waters, Maisch, and Schultz finished 8th in the 400 free relay to end the day.
