Dexter Girls’ Track Sweeps, Boys’ Drop Pair

The Dexter track teams hosted a tri-meet to open SEC White action last week.

The girls came away with a pair of wins, defeating Tecumseh 87.5-49.5 and Adrian 78-59. The boys dropped both matches, falling to Tecumseh 73-63 and Adrian 83-54.



Nicole Bow swept the hurdles events to lead the Lady Dreads. She also earned second place finishes in the pole vault and high jump.

The 4×400 team of Megyn Scafasci, Faith Jones, Sarah Read, and Lauren Bazick came home first, while Dani Waidley was first in the 3200, Faith Jones first in the 400, and Emma Hall first in the high jump.

Second place finishes went to Maria Zahn in the shot put and discus, the 4×800 relay team of Waidley, Taylor Forshee, Abby McLean, and Sophia Grant; Anna Varitek in the 800 and 1600; Scafasci the 400; and Maggie Jordan the 200.

The boys were led by the 1st place finishes by Nathan Larson in the 3200 and Oliver Bishop the pole vault.

Second place finishes went to Jimmy Fortuna-Peak 100 and 200; Lucas Betzoldt 3200; 4×800 relay team of Larson, Betzoldt, Nick Barnes, and Seth Read; Henry Sheldon pole vault; and Cameron O’Day long jump.
