Dexter Girls’ Track Wins SEC White Title

The Dexter girls’ track team clinched the SEC White title by winning the SEC Finals at Siena Heights University Friday.

The Dreadnaughts finished with a team score of 145, clipping second place Pinckney with 115 and third place Chelsea with 105.

Nicole Bow had a big day, winning the SEC title in three events. She won the title in the 300 hurdles, pole vault, and high jump. She also finished second in the 100 hurdles.

Second place finishes went to Anna Varitek in 1600, the 4×100 relay team of Lauren Bazick, Maggie Jordan, Madison Wright, and Emma Hall; and Wright in the pole vault.

Third place and all-league honors went to Hall in the high jump, Bazick the 300 hurdles, Megan Scafaci in the 800, and the 4×400 relay team of Scafasci, Faith Jones, Jamie Stout, and Emma Chevillet.

The boys had a rough time finishing sixth with 72.5 points. Chelsea won the meet with a score of 139.

Oliver Bishop was the league champion in the pole vault.

Jimmy Fortuna-Peak finished second in the 100 and 200, while Henry Sheldon was second in the pole vault.

Third place finishes went to Nathan Larson in the 3200 and Wilson Kasischke in the 110 hurdles.
