The Dexter girls’ water polo team used a strong defense and some timely goals to pull away from rival Chelsea for a 13-4 win last week.

The Dreadnaughts took a 3-1 lead after one and led 5-2 at the half.

They kept the Bulldogs off the board in the third and scored twice for a 7-2 lead and put the game away with six goals in the fourth.


Allison Wyka had a big game with four goals and five assists. Anna Lehr scored four goals and one assist, Alyssa Frost three goals, Heather Brouwer and Maeve Donevan one goal each. Katherine Clemens made 11 saves in net for the Dreads.

Chelsea was led by Jordan Fannin with two goals, while Morgan DeYoe and Hannah Harmes had one goal each.
