Dexter Golfers Qualify for D1 State Finals





The Dexter boys’ golf team qualified for the State Finals for the first time since 2011 Wednesday by finishing third at the Division 1 Regional hosted by Ann Arbor Skyline at Lake Forest Golf Course in Ann Arbor.

The Dreadnaughts will be making their first appearance in the finals since they finished 11th in D2.

Dexter finished with a team score of 332, finishing behind Ann Arbor Skyline with 313 and Ann Arbor Pioneer 316. They beat out Saline by three strokes to claim the third and final spot.

Kyle Knapp fired an 18-hole round of 78 to lead the Dreadnaughts.



Jack Evans was one stroke back with 79, while Jack Kolka shot 81, Matt Keogh 94, and Joey Fracassi 102.

The Dreads will take part in the D1 finals at the Fortress in Frankenmuth June 7 and 8.
