Dexter Golfers Win Bedford Invite

The Dexter golf team came home with a first place finish at the Bedford Varsity Invitational at The Legacy Golf Course Saturday, May 11.

The Dreadnaughts finished with a team score of 327, beating out second place Saline with 332. Dexter and Saline combined to have eight of the top nine scores in the tournament.

Medalist honors went to Jack Kolka and Matt Keogh as both shot rounds of 80.



Kyle Knapp finished with 83 and Jack Evans 84. Joey Fracassi shot 87 and Dom Sortor 92.

Saline was led by Ben Wild with a round of 81, Yanic Sadek and Aidan Bunting 83, and Jason Taylor 85.

The Dreadnaughts hosted the Orange Theory Fitness Invite at Hudson Mills and finished 10th out of 24 teams Saturday, May 4.

Dexter finished with a team score of 332 in the event won by state power Detroit Catholic Central with 293.

Keogh led the Dreads with a round of 82, followed by Sortor and Knapp with 83, and Evans 84. Elijah Sharpe added a round of 96 for Dexter.

The Dreadnaughts will take part in the Chelsea Invitational Thursday and the SEC Finals at Barton Hills Tuesday, May 21.
