The Dexter hockey team overcome an early deficit and then held on to defeat Pinckney Wednesday night.
The Dreadnaughts were given a five minute major for boarding early in the first and the Pirates capitalized on a goal by Logan Schmitt.
Dexter tied the game when Dylan Fox took a rebound off the boards behind the net and slammed it home to make it 1-1, but Schmitt would score his second of the game late i nthe first for a 2-1 Pirate lead.
Dexter tied it in the second on a goal by Kyle Knapp and took a 3-2 lead when Trevor Lotz sent a crossing pass in front of the Pinckney net and it bonced in off the goaltenders skate for a goal.
Kyle Burke gave the Dreadnaughts a 4-2 lead with seven minutes left, but Schmitt scored his third of the night less than a minute later to make it 4-3.
Dexter pressured for the remaining five minutes ,but Pinckney pulled their goalie with juts over a minute to play. The Pirates put a lot of pressure on the Dexter goalie Kristoffer Eberly, but could not score the equalizer as the final horn went.
