Dexter Hoops Has Rough Week





The Dexter boys’ basketball team had a rough week against two of the top teams in the SEC White dropping a pair of games.

The Dreads opened the week by falling to ninth-ranked Ypsilanti Lincoln 66-31.

Dexter held tough with Lincoln for one quarter trialing just 7-6, but it was all Splitters after that.

Lincoln would outscore the Dreads 24-7 in the second to take a 36-13 halftime lead.



A skirmish broke out just before the half and three players were ejected, including Lincoln’s freshman phenom Emoni Bates.

The second half did not get much better for the Dreads as Lincoln outscored them 30-18 to cruise to the win.

Ryan Trinkle led Dexter with eight points, while Colin Parachek added five. Antwan Ficklen scored four, Rory Tell, and Andy Durand three, Jake Avery, Chad Robards, and Marco Lucchesi two each.

Friday night was not much better for Dexter as Ypsilanti rolled past the, 75-41.

Ficklen had a big night with 13 points, while Lucchesi added nine. Parachek chipped in with seven, Caden Doll five, Durand three, Avery and Robards two each.
