Dexter Soccer Downs Rival Chelsea

The Dexter soccer team used a big second half to take down rival Chelsea 3-1 last week.

An up and down the field first half saw both teams get quality scoring chances, but neither team could find the net in a scoreless first half.

Things changed in the second half as the Dreadnaughts exploded for three goals to pull out the win.

Dexter took advantage of a pair of direct kicks off Chelsea penalties and Hayden Newton and Sam Harshe drilled them home, while Riley Cyrulnik scored the other goal for the Dreadnaughts.

Senior Matt Keogh made some big saves in net in the first half to keep the Bulldogs off the board.

Dexter rolled to an 8-0 mercy of Ypsilanti Lincoln earlier in the week.

Jake Avery picked up the hat trick of three goals to lead the Dreads. Simone Bulanti, Noah Rogge, Newton, Matt Roller, and Harshe each scored a goal for Dexter, while Harshe (2), Grant Wagner, Roller, Newton, Rogge, Jack Kolka, and Jack Evans picked up assists.
