The Dexter girls’ soccer team saw its tournament run come to an end with a 5-2 loss to Orchard Lake St Mary’s in the D2 Regional semifinals in Waterford Tuesday night.
The Dreadnaughts could not overcome three OLSM goals in the season ending loss for Dexter.
Orchard Lake St. Mary struck first just over a minute into the game, but the Dreads answered with Jillian Lower knocked in a loose ball from a free kick by Laci Jernigan to tie it at 1-1.
The Eaglets retook the lead 2-1 with 23 minutes remaining in the half with penalty kick and would add one more goal for a 3-1 halftime lead.
OLSM would make it 4-1 five minutes into the second half and pushed the lead to 5-1 before Jernigan found the net with just over a minute remaining to make the final 5-2
Dexter finishes with a 9-9-2 overall record.
