The Dexter softball team wrapped up its best conference season since joining the SEC Red by finishing in second place.

Dexter finished 14-5 in the SEC Red, behind league champion Saline at 17-2.

The Dreadnaughts opened the week by splitting a doubleheader with Bedford.

Dexter took the opener 6-2 behind the five-hit pitching of Audrey Gauthier. She finished with nine strikeouts in the circle for the win.

A Mallory Brandt two run single in the first inning put the Dreads up 3-0 and a Lizzie Lewis two-run homer in the fourth made it 5-0 and Gauthier would do the rest for the Dreadnaughts win.

Lewis finished with two hits, with the home run and two RBI.

Brandt and Clara Lamb had a hit and two RBI each, while Ella Mitchell, Roni Wilson, and Eleni Michos had a hit and run scored each.

The Dreadnaughts dropped the second game 9-8.

Mitchell had two hits and an RBI, while Lamb, Maddie Ohlman, and Lewis each had a hit and RBI.

A big four run third inning helped the Dreads take the opener over Pinckney 5-3 Wednesday.

The big blow of the inning was a three-run homer by Wilson that put the Dreadnaughts on top 4-1.

Gauthier struck out seven and allowed six hits for the win in the circle.

Gigi Kirkey led the Dreads with three hits and two runs scored. Wilson finished with the home run and four RBI, while Lamb had a hit and RBI, and Mitchell a hit and run scored.

Dexter took a pair of games from strong opponents at the Chelsea quad Thursday.

The Dreadnaughts opened with a 7-1 win over Fowlerville.

Three straight RBI singles by Lamb, Wilson, and Ohlman put the Dreads up 3-0 and Michos drove in two more later in the inning to give Dexter a 5-0 lead in the first and they would never look back.
