Dexter Swim and Dive Dominates SEC Tri-Meet

The Dexter mens‘ swim and dive team seems to be kicking it in to high gear a the season winds toward the post-season as the Dreadnaughts dominated a SEC White tri-meet Friday, February 1.

The Dreadnaughts took the top two spots in every individual event, won all three relays, and swept the top three spots in six events on their way to a 146-37 win over Jackson and 147-36 win over Adrian.

Dexter also swam state qualifying times in nine of 12 events and MISCA qualifying times in the other two.

Nik Eberly set a new pool record in the 100 butterfly, smashing his old record by two seconds with a time of 49.13. He also won the 50 free, and was part of the winning 200 medley relay, along with Clayton Kinnard, Paul Schaefer, and Tanner Sharp.

Dexter swept the 200 IM with Kinnard, Zach Norris, and Adam Hauser taking the top three spots.

Other event sweeps were the 200 free (Casey Dolen, Leo Varitek, and Luke Sayler); 50 free with (Eberly, Sharp, and Nathan Norris); 100 fly (Eberly, Stuart Bovich, and Daniel Bialowicz); 100 free (Casey Dolen, Luke Sayler, and Michael Baumann); and 500 free (Schaefer, Griffin Bartscht, and Hauser).

Cole Warren and Yaw Oduro took the top two spots in diving; Kinnard and Z. Norris top two in 100 back, and Sharp and Schaefer top two in 100 breast.

Dolen, N Norris, Baumann, and Sayler teamed to win the 200 free relay, while Dolen, Kinnard, Sharp, and Ben Duncan won the 400 free relay.
