The Dexter baseball team took two of three games from Jackson this week to open SEC White action and improved to 4-1 overall on the season.

The Dreadnaughts opened the week by sweeping a doubleheader at Jackson Monday.

They took the opener 9-1 behind the two-hit pitching of Jacoby Haley. He struck out four and allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings of work for the win.

Andy Durand led the offense with a pair of hits and three RBI, while Alex Mills and Joe Horne had two hits and an RBI each. David Kreske added two hits and two RBI.

The Dreads pounded out 17 hits in the second game on their way to a 15-4 win. Dexter led 6-3 after four but put it away with four runs in the 5th and four in the 7th.

Kreske had a big game with four hits and five RBI to led the offense. Trevor Feeman added three hits and scored two runs, while Mills had two hits and an RBI, and Nate Kniesteadt had a hit and two RBI. Ben Cabana struck out four for the Dreads.

After pounding out 30 hits in the doubleheader, the Dreads could muster four hits in the third game and fell to the Vikings 4-1.

Kreske had a hit and RBI, while Mills, Kniesteadt, and Feeman had the other hits for the Dreadnaughts.

Dexter takes on Ann Arbor Pioneer in a SEC crossover matchup Thursday.
