Synopsis of Action of the Dexter Township Board of Trustees

Regular Board Meeting November 15, 2016

Called to order at 7:00 PM

Members Present: Supervisor Rider, Clerk Ceo, Treasurer Brushaber, Trustees Howard, Lesser, Gajewski and Maciejewski

Absent: None

Also, Present: Zachary Michels, Director of Planning & Zoning

Supervisor’s Remarks: Apologized for the oversight of the board packet not being on the website. The service provider advised the board packet was posted, which it was not, but not double checked by the Township. Informed the public Carl Lesser, Michael Howard and Jason Maciejewski were retiring as of November 20, 2016 and would introduce the new members of the Board later during the meeting. Updated the Board reference ET Rover, that FERC as of last week has not granted any permits for the pipeline.

Call to the Public: Kari Stroschein, Dexter Townhall Road, asked how a resident could get an issue placed on the agenda and are there any restrictions on the topic. To place an issue on the board agenda contact Supervisor Rider and the topic needs to pertain to Dexter Township.

The Board approved: The Agenda for November 15, 2016 Board meeting; Minutes from the October 18, 2016 Board meeting; along with General Fund bills totaling $42,173.72, Fire Fund bills totaling $54,248.35, Police Fund bills totaling $40,827.25, Agency Fund bills totaling $18,061.50, and gross monthly payroll of $24,606.85.

In addition, the Board took the following actions: The Board members discussed the rezoning of the Dolezky property from agricultural to rural residential then opened it up for public comment. The Board tabled the rezoning decision to review all email and information recently sent to the Board and review the direction  of open space communities within the Township; Approved the Township Use Policy and Use Agreement; Approved Resolution 16-471 to initiate a lake improvement project for the Chain of Lakes in Dexter  Township, Webster Township, Hamburg Township, Putnum Township through the Washtenaw County Board of Public Works; Approved the motion to extend the following appointments until 12/31/16 to allow the new Dexter Township Board to review representatives going forward; Bill Gajewski on the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, Jason Maciejewski and Libby Brushaber on the WWRA Board, Harley Rider on the DAFD Board; Approved the replacement of carpet and repainting in the Township Hall meeting room; Approved the refund of $580 to Laura Cowden-Jones for the Zoning Board of Appeals special meeting which was not necessary.  The Board recognized the services of Trustee Carl Lesser, Michael Howard and Jason Maciejewski who are retiring from the Board.  The newly elected Township Board members, Harley Rider Supervisor, Libby Brushaber Treasurer, William Gajewski, Michael Compton, and Mark Mesko Trustees, were administered the oath of office by Clerk Debra Ceo.

Second Call to the Public: Chief Smith thanked the retiring members of the Board, Carl Lesser, Michael Howard and Jason Maciejewski for their service to the community.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:54 p.m.
