The Dexter boys’ and girls’ track teams took part in the Division 1 Regional at Saline Friday and had six athletes qualify for the state finals in seven events.

Nicole Bow led the way by setting a new Dexter school record in the long jump with a lead of 17’1”, finishing in second place.

Bow also led a squad of five other Dreadnaughts that qualified for the state finals in the pole vault. She won the girls’ pole vault, while Madison Wright was second, Teaghan Holman third, and Josie Mettes fifth.

For the boys, Henry Sheldon was second and Oliver Bishop third, with both qualifying for the state finals.


The girls finished fifth overall at the Saline Regional with 60.5 points. Ann Arbor Pioneer won the meet.

The boys finished tied for 10th with 20 points in the meet won by Saline.
