With a 3-0 sweep of Jackson Tuesday night, the Dexter volleyball team clinched at least a share of the 2019 SEC White title.
The Dreadnaughts have a 4 point lead over second-place Tecumseh with two games against Pinckney and Chelsea remaining. Pinckney could still battle back to share the title if three Pirates acen with their last three games.
Dexter can clinch the outright title with a win at Pinckney Tuesday, October 15 or at home against Chelsea October 22 in the annual Dig Pink Game.
After a close first set, the Dreads put away with ease Tuesday night, sweeping the Vikings 25-20, 25-8, 25-17 to improve to 12-0 in the SEC White and 23-4 overall.
Jordan Kless led the Dreadnaughts with 14 digs and 12 kills.
Eleanor King had a big night with 25 assists, five digs, four kills, and four aces. Quinn LaFontaine and Hanna Quinn each had seven kills, while Quinn added two aces. Avery Goodrich chipped in with seven digs and four kills, Ashley Haralson four kills, and Livvy Mellifont 10 digs and three assists.
Dexter will take part in the Parma Western Invite Saturday.
