The Dexter volleyball team took part in a quad meet at Manchester last week and came home with a 2-1 record.
The Dreadnaughts opened the night by sweeping Jackson Northwest 25-12, 25-19 and then took a pair of games from Brooklyn Columbia Central 25-12, 25-9 to set up a final match with Manchester that was also 2-0 on the night.
Dexter took an early lead, but Manchester rallied to take a 16-14 lead. Dexter retied it at 16, but the Dutchmen scored nine of the next 10 points to pull out a 25-17 win.
The Dreads started slowly in the second match as Manchester took a 9-4 lead. The Dreads could never get over the hump as they dropped the set 25-26 and the match 2-0.
The JV improved to 11-2-2 on the season by sweeping its quad. They defeated Columbia Central 27-25, 25-19, Manchester 25-19, 20-25, 15-10, and Northwest 25-16, 25-15.
Jordan Kless led the Dreads with 10 kills, while Jamie Giese had eight. Delaney Arnedt had ten assists, while Avery Goodrich and Skylar Constantine had 11 digs each. Kless and Anredt each had four aces.
Taylor Venuto led Dexter with 24 kills, 19 digs, and four aces. Brooklyn Brown added 12 kills, Beth Ankenbauer 12 assists, Livvy Mellifont 15 digs, and Eleanor King, six digs, six assists, and three aces.
Dexter improved to 16-3 on the season.
