The Dexter girls’ water polo team is hoping to get healthy with the MWPA districts starting next weekend.
The Dreadnaughts have been struggling of late with several players out with injuries, including their top two goaltenders forcing players to be moved to positions they are not used too.
Dexter fell to state-ranked Saline-Milan 12-3 last week.
Saline-Milan jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Annie Wesorick found the net for the Dreadnaughts in the first period.
The Dreads had no answer for the Chickadee offense in the second with a 6-0 run by Saline-Milan for a 10-1 lead.
The lead grew to 12-1 before Uxue Capel scored a pair of goals for Dexter to make the final 12-3.
Shelby Waltz picked up two assists and Emma Bishop one for the Dreads. Kori Wilson made five shots in net for Dexter.
It doesn’t get any easier this week as the Dreadnaughts host the number-one team in the state Ann Arbor Skyline for Senior Night before district action begins at Ann Arbor Skyline Friday night.
The Dreadnaughts will take on Ann Arbor Huron at 5:15 in the district opener with the winner facing Skyline Saturday morning.
