Dexter’s Mark Young Wins District Title, Jasper Howell Fourth

Dexter’s Mark Young and Jasper Howell quaified for next weeks D2 Regional at Vicksburg after top finishes at the district at Mason Saturday.

Young powered his way to the district title at 215 pounds and will be a number one seed at the Regional. He opened with a pair of pins to reach the finals and there he defeated Landon Raczkowski of Parma Western 5-3 for the title.

Howell opened with a pin at 152 but dropped a tough 5-4 decision in the quarterfinals. He battled back with a pair of wins in the consolation bracket to reach the third-place match, but came up short in a 4-0 decision and finished 4th.

Jasper Howell Qualified for the D2 Regional

The Dreadnaughts fell to Chelsea 51-27 in the D2 team district championship February 6.

Three voids cost the Dreadnaughts and they could not overcome them.

Young (285), Ethan Cameron (189), Kevin Blanchard (112), Noah Drummond (125), and Dylan Lorincz (130) picked up wins for the Dreads.
