The Dexter football team saw its two-game winning streak snapped as the Dreadnaughts fell to undefeated Jackson 29-19 Friday night.
The loss dropped the Dreadnaughts record to 2-2 overall on the season and 1-2 in the SEC White.
Dexter jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Colin Parachek hit Andy Durand with a 27-yard scoring pass in the first quarter.
Jackson answered late in the first with a TD pass and two-point conversion for an 8-7 lead after one.
The Viking lead grew to 15-7, but Dexter cut into the lead when Parachek hit Zach Koone with a 21-yard scoring pass to make it 15-13 at the half.
Jackson extended its=s lead to 22-13, but Parachek tossed his third scoring pass of the night, this time for 35-yards to Antwan Ficklen to make it 22-19 heading into the fourth quarter.
The dagger came when the Vikings went on a gut-wrenching 22-play 81-yard drive and scored with 20 seconds left in the game to make it 29-19 final.
The Dreads struggled to stop the Vikings running game as Jackson racked up 442 total yards to 208 for the Dreadnaughts.
Parachek was 13-24 passing for 186 yards and three scores.
Koone caught two passes for 61 yards and a score, Ficklen five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown, and Durand five catches for 54 yards and a TD. Mason Loudermilk rushed for 32 yards on seven carries.
The Dreadnaughts hit the road next week when they travel to Adrian.
