Soothing Sound Bath Meditation
December 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
As the holiday season approaches, it’s easy to get a little frazzled.
After a short series of gentle stretches to release tension and unspent energy from the body, we’ll settle down onto our mats, amid blankets and bolsters aplenty, to experience a soothing sound bath meditation, courtesy of Nathan Correll of Healing River Therapy. Nathan will be accompanied by his sound buddy Brendan, and together they will create an all-enveloping continuous wave of vibration and sound, using a variety of instruments including flute, crystal bowls, gongs, drums, wind chime, and others.
Thought to help heal depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia, and to deepen meditation and spark creativity, sound bathing calms our overworked, overstimulated nervous system, and specific frequencies of sound can bring both our physical and subtle, or energy, bodies into a state of balance.
These classes kind of feel a bit like a yogi slumber party, and even if you do happen to nod off, you’ll still feel the powerful vibrations of sound flowing through you. Something will shift. It really is an experience not to be missed.
