Longest Night Celebration
December Twenty-First: December or Winter Solstice, the beginning of Yule, Longest Night is the point at which the path of the sun in the sky is farthest south. At the Winter Solstice, the sun travels the shortest path through the sky resulting in the day of the year with the least sunlight and therefore, the longest night.
For many, this day brings the excitement of the winter holidays. For others it ushers in a time of seasonal “blues”. This event will help us to celebrate the never ending light within each of us. Seasonal imagery, healing sound (singing bowls, gongs, etc.), releasing ceremony, labyrinth walk, drumming, and more will create a unique and uplifting experience.
The themes we will explore in this event will be:
RELEASE – labyrinth walk, bring something you would like to release
SHARE – community sharing (as you are comfortable)
RECEIVE – sound bath
CELEBRATE – drum circle
Yoga mats and yoga blankets will be provided. Limited supply of bolsters and props will be available. Please bring any additional supports that you would like to have for this experience. If you have a drum, please bring it with you.
