Chelsea District Library is Thrilled to Welcome Our Community Back to the Library!

Chelsea District Library (CDL) is excited to announce our planned reopening on Monday, June 21. Throughout the pandemic, the library board and management team have been and remain committed to protecting the health of our community and staff. All decisions have been made following the health and safety guidelines from the CDC, State of Michigan, and Washtenaw County health departments. We continue to adhere to their guidance. And, if there is one thing that we have learned through the last year, it is that viruses can be unpredictable. We remain prepared to change plans as health and safety guidelines evolve. Given the current levels of viral spread and community vaccination rates, we are optimistic and are busily preparing to open the doors of the library and welcome you back for browsing on June 21. Stay tuned for more details as we gradually reintroduce library services.

What can you expect when you visit CDL?

• Library hours will remain Mondays–Fridays 10am–6pm, Saturdays 10am–3pm, and closed on Sundays.
• Computers will be available for public use.
• Summer programming has already been planned and will largely remain virtual. Follow the weekly eNewsletters and social media for information about pop-up events, or changes to the program plans.

As the state moves toward implementing reopening changes, Chelsea District Library anticipates making additional adjustments and continuing our work to increase library access and services. Mask and social distancing requirements will continue to adapt in response to CDC, State, and local health department guidelines. State officials are working on updated industry-specific guidance for businesses and organizations and CDL staff are closely monitoring this guidance. We appreciate your patience as our staff and visitors adjust to this new service model—we are excited to welcome you back!
