Northern Michigan Travelers Beware—4 Construction Zones in 30 Miles

Make a note, if you’re traveling north this spring through July for some great summer fun, be sure to pack your patience if you’re traveling the 30-mile stretch of freeway where US-127 merges with I-75.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.4 million in repairs to four bridges in Crawford and Roscommon counties. This work includes bridge deck patching and epoxy sealant, repairs to the bridge substructure, and guardrail and approach upgrades. This work will require single-lane closures with traffic shifts on northbound I-75 and northbound and southbound US-127.

On US-127, maintenance and repairs will be performed at:

  • Canoe Camp Rd (County Rd 402)
  • Pine Rd (County Rd 104)
  • Yeager Rd (County Rd 300)

On I-75, work will be done at the 4 Mile Rd bridge, just north of where the two freeways merge.

Expect traffic backups on each freeway, especially during peak travel times.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 5, 2021, and is estimated to be completed July 16, 2021.
