Five Chelsea Hockey Players Earn D3 All State Honors

Coming off a season that saw the Chelsea hockey team reach the Division 3 state semifinals several Bulldogs have been earned numerous post season honors.

The Bulldogs went 17-2-1 overall on the season and had five player earn D3 All State honors for the 2021 season.

First team All State Honors went to forward Tyler Valik and defenseman Corbin Steele.

Valik finished with 19 goals and 31 assists on the season to lead the Bulldogs in points.

Steele was the anchor for the Bulldogs defense but was a force on the offensive end as well finishing with nine goals and 12 assists.

Second Team All State Honors went to junior Devin McIntyre. He finished with a team high 27 goals on the season and had 13 assists. He scored nine goals in the Bulldogs five playoff games.

Goaltender Byron Bayer also earned second team All State Honors. He won 11 games in net on the season allowing just 20 goals in 14 starts and posted three shutouts.

Michael Jones was another force for the Chelsea defense that allowed just 25 goals in 20 games. Jones finished with nine assists on the season.
