The Chelsea softball team rolled to its seventh straight win to open the season after sweeping three games at a home quad Saturday.

The Bulldogs opened the day by taking down Woodhaven 9-5.

Woodhaven took a 1-0 lead in the second but a Nicole Roeser RBI double and a RBI triple by Mya Purdy put Chelsea up 2-1 in the bottom of the inning.

The lead would grow to 4-1 on a two-run double by Emilee Underwood and RBI singles by Andi Evers and Olaveson pushed it to 6-1 in the fourth.

Woodhaven scored three in the fifth to cut the lead to 6-4, but a RBI single by Purdy and a two-run error by Woodhaven extended the lead to 9-5 and the Bulldogs would close it out from there.

Purdy led the offense with three hits and two RBI.

Underwood had two hits and two RBI, while Olaveson, Evers, and Roeser each had a hit and RBI. Bekah Zachrich and Zoey Monica each chipped in with a hit.

Underwood earned the win on the mound striking out six.

The Bulldogs took on Olivet in the second game and used a huge 14 run fourth inning to blow out the Eagles 17-1.

Zachrich clubbed a grand slam and Olaveson a two-run bomb in the inning as the Bulldogs sent 16 batters to the plate in the inning.

The offense was led by Zachrich with three hits and five RBI and Olaveson three hits and two RBI. Emily McCalla had two hits and two RBI, while Evers and Katherine Thoms had two hits and a RBI each. Purdy and Amelia Robeson each had a pair of hits, while Madison Kay had a hit and RBI.

McCalla earned the win on the mound allowing just two hits.

Chelsea took a 2-0 lead on a RBI double by Kay and a RBI single by Purdy in the third.

The Bulldogs had chances to blow the game open, loading the bases with nobody out in the second and only scoring one run and leaving runners in scoring position several other times and it came back to haunt them.

Eaton Rapids scored a pair of runs in the seventh to tie the game at 2-2 setting up an exciting finish.

McCalla led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and Zachrich followed with a game-winning walk-off triple to score McCalla and give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win.

Evers and Underwood added hits for Chelsea, while Underwood earned the win on the mound striking out eight and allowing four hits.

Chelsea returns to action Monday when they travel to Adrian.
