Chelsea Girls' Track Third at Splitter Relays
The Chelsea girls' track team had a strong showing at the Ypsilanti Lincoln Splitter Relays coming home with a third place finish at the meet that was mostly Division 1 schools.
The Bulldogs finished with 62 points in the meet won by Saline with 93 and East Kentwood second with 89.5.
Tristan Krug finished first in the 1600 and Breanne Black won the pole vault to lead the Bulldogs.
Second place finishes went to the DMR team of Kate Gaiser, Makayla Kegerreis, Riley Thorburn, and Krug; and the 4x100 shuttle relay team of Kendra Patterson, Molly Manor, Brooke Matusik, and Anna King.
Morgan Majeske finished in third place in the discus.
The SMR team of Carley Grabarczyk, Black, Eva Dewaele, and Natalie Falerios finished fifth.
Sixth-place finished were the Long DMR team of Gaiser, Matusik, Seren Angus, and Julia Kause; and the 4x400 relay team of Kegerreis, Matusik, Patterson, and Thorburn.
The Swedish relay team of Laney Smith, Manor, Patterson, and Matusik was seventh, while Audra Guthre was seventh in the pole vault and Majeske seventh in the shot.
Ava Woodward finished eighth in the discus.
