Chelsea Baseball Cruises to Sweep of Adrian

With the temperature dropping and a cold wind blowing the Chelsea baseball team made quick work of Adrian in a doubleheader sweep of the Maples Monday taking a pair of shortened games 19-3 and 25-1.

The opener saw Joe Taylor start things rolling with a home run with two outs in the first to put Chelsea on top 1-0. Hunter Sciackitano, Trent Hill, and Lucas Dunn would add RBI singles to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead after one.

After a pair of runs in the second made it 6-0, the Bulldogs would score 13 times in the third to blow the game open. Adrian would score three in the bottom of the third, but the game ended due to the 15 run mercy rule.

Sciackitano led the offense with two hits and four RBI, while Hill and Gabe Anstead had two this and two RBI each. Dunn finished with two hits and an RBI, Taylor the home run and three RBI, and Will Wilhelm a hit and two RBI. Anstead earned the win on the mound striking out five.

The Bulldogs wasted no time in the second game sending 18 batters to the plate in the first inning and scoring 16 times.

Chelsea would score nine more in the second and end the game after two innings with a 25-1 win.

Dylan Dollinger ripped a two-run homer in the first and finished with two hits and three RBI.

Chase Kemp led the offense with three hits and four RBI, while Wilhelm added two hits and three RBI.

Trevor Vosters added a hit and three RBI, while Taylor, Hill, Trevor Kilgore, and Anstead each had a hit and RBI.
