Chelsea Softball Powers Way Past Adrian

The Chelsea softball team made quick work of the Adrian Maples Monday afternoon sweeping a doubleheader 16-0 and 19-2.

The Bulldogs pounded out 23 hits in the doubleheader and benefitted from 13 walks from Maples pitching in the second game on their way to the sweep.

Emilee Underwood did not allow a baserunner for a three-inning perfect game in the opener and struck out seven Maples.

Emily McCalla, Bekah Zachrich , and Zoey Monica had two hits and two RBI to lead the offense. Andi Evers recorded two hits and an RBI, while Mya Purdy had two hits and a run scored. Maggie Olaveson, Katherine Thoms, and Nicole Roeser had a hit and RBI each.

Chelsea scored ten runs in the second inning of the nightcap to blow the game wide open.

Underwood led the offense with two hits and four RBI, while Purdy had two hits and three RBI. 

Megan McCalla had two hits and two RBI, Madison Kay and Amelia Robinson a hit and two RBI each, Emily McCalla and Maddie Dunlap  a run and RBI each.

Emily McCalla picked up the win in the circle for the Bulldogs, striking out 11 and allowing two hits in four innings. 

Chelsea improved to 9-0 overall on the season and 5-0 in the SEC White. They are scheduled to play AA Skyline in a SEC crossover Wednesday with weather permitting.
