Chelsea Track Teams Sweep Adrian, Lincoln

The Chelsea track teams hosted a SEC White tri-meet in snowy cold condition Tuesday night and both teams came away with a sweeps of Adrian and Ypsilanti Lincoln.

The boys' took first in five events, but used their depth with numerous second and third place finishes to clip Adrian 74-63 and beat Lincoln 96-41.

First place finishes went to Will Barhite in the 300 hurdles, Aiden McGuire discus, Nick Fisk high jump, Dom Guthre pole vault, and Brandon Snyder long jump.

Barhite would earn second place finishes in the 110 hurdles and the high jump for the Bulldogs.

Other second place finishes went to Snyder in the 200, Owen Smith 800, Connell Alford 1600, Ryan Scott in the shot and discus, and the 4x200 and 4x800 relay teams.

The girls won nine events at the meet and defeated Lincoln 88-48 and Adrian 116-21.

Riley Thorburn, Seren Angus, and Audra Guthre won two events each to lead the Bulldogs.

Thorburn won the 800 and Guthre the pole vault and both teamed with Kasey Matusik and Laney Smith to win the 4x400.

Angus won the 3200 and was part of the winning 4x800 team with Rachel Bullock, Julia Kause, and Kate Gaiser.

Makayla Kegerreis won the 400 and Morgan Majeske the discus for Chelsea.

Second place finishes went to Kegerreis in the long jump, Breanne Black pole vault, Ava Woodard discus, Kendra Patterson 300 hurdles, Brooke Matusik 100 hurdles, Thorburn 1600 Krug 800, Smith 100, and the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams.

The Bulldogs will host the Chelsea Relays Friday afternoon.
