Chelsea Soccer Runs Past Jackson
Powered by hat tricks by hat tricks by Kate Krugh and Jessica Emmert, the Chelsea soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season to roll past Jackson 6-3 Thursday night.
Krugh got this rolling for Chelsea just one minute into the game when she headed in a rebound that bounced off the cross bar and directly to her for the goal.
After Jackson tied it, Krugh then stole a pass and found the net for her second goal to make it 2-1.
The Vikings once again evened the score, but the Bulldogs answered when Emmert knocked home a rebound for a 3-2 halftime lead.
Emmert scored her second of the game early in the second half when she took an Andrea Kowalski crossing pass and drilled it home.
Just over a minute later Krugh took a crossing pass from Breigha Vowles and netted it home for the hat trick and a 5-2 lead.
The Bulldogs went up 6-2 when Emmert got her hat trick when she broke in alone and beat the Vikings goaltender with just over seven minutes remaining.
The Vikings scored with 3:30 left to cut the lead to 6-3, but the Bulldogs slammed the door for the win.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-1-1 on the season and will return to the pitch Tuesday at home against Adrian.
