Bulldog Track and Field Teams Sweep Chelsea Relays

The Chelsea boys and girls track and field teams put together a sweep of the Chelsea Relays Friday afternoon.

The girls easily outdistance second place Holt 116-82, while the boys beat out South Lyon for the top spot 105-99 in the eight team event.

The Chelsea girls came home first in six events.

Morgan Majeske won the discus and Breanne Black won the pole vault for the Bulldogs.

Chelsea took first in the 4x3200 with the team of Kate Gaiser, Seren Angus, Rachel Bullock, and Riley Thorburn. Molly Mannor, Kasey Matusik, Thorburn, and Makayla Kegerreis teamed to win the SMR, while Kendra Patterson, Anna King, Brooke Matusik, and Molly Mannor won the 4x100 shuttle hurdles. The team of Madeline Collins, Lia Spink, Elsa Baize, and Chloe Gray teamed to win the 4x100 freshman race.

Second place finishes went to the 4x800 relay team of Trilian Krug, Julia Kause, Angus, and Rachel Bullock; Ava Woodard in the discus, Audra Guthre pole vault, and King in the high jump.

The 4x200 relay team of Kasey Matusik, Eva Dewaele, Patterson, and Carley Grabarczyk; and the DMR team of Gaiser, Brooke Matusik, Kause, and Krug both earned third place finishes.

The boy took the top spot in three events.

The 4x3200 relay team of Jimmy Alford, Jackson Dell, Bram Hartuff, and Zebedee Swager came home first; Will Barhite, Jack Krugh, Owen Smith, and Dominic Guthre teamed to win the SMR, and Aiden McGuire won the discus.

Second place finishes went to the 4x800 team of Smith, Connell Alford, Erik Reiber, and Dell; the DMR team of Connelle Alford, Caden Faupel, Jimmy Alford, and Reiber, the 4x110 shuttle hurdle team of Will Barhite, Malcolm Keaton, Ethan Kwaske, and Andrew Hilbert; Dominic Guthre pole vault, Ryan Scott Discus, and Brandon Snyder long jump.

The 4x400 relay team of Andrew Sherwood, Smith, Krugh, and Guthre placed third, while McGuire in the shot put and Nick Fisk in the high jump also earned third place finishes.
