Chelsea Track Teams Sweep Jackson
The Chelsea track and field teams ran by Jackson in preparation for a big SEC White meet against rival Dexter next Tuesday.
The girls dominated the Vikings by winning 16 of 17 events and taking home a 118-18 victory, while the boys used their depth to take down the Vikings 98-38.
Seren Angus picked up a pair of wins in the 800 and 1600 for the girls, while Kendra Patterson won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles; and Morgan Majeske the shot put and discus.
Makayla Kegerreis won the 100 and Kasey Matusik the 200 to sweep the sprints.
Riley Thorburn won the 400 and Trilian Krug the 3200 for the sweep in the distance for the Bulldogs.
Chelsea took first in the in the 4x100, 4x400, and 4x800 relays.
Anna King won the high jump, Breanne Black the pole vault, and Eva Dewaele the long jump.
Connell Alford and Will Barhate picked up two wins each to lead the boys team to the win over the Vikings.
Alford won the 1600 and 3200 races, while Barhite won the 110 and 300 hurdles races.
Owen Smith won the 800 and the Bulldogs won the 4x400 relay.
Chelsea swept the field events with Ryan Scott winning the shot put, Aiden McGuire the discus, Nick Fisk the high jump, Dominic Guthre the pole vault, and Brandon Snyder the long jump.
The Bulldogs will compete in the Mason Invitational Friday.
